Make the most of your time at Tūhura Otago Museum with a free Spotlight Tour with one of our wonderful Museum Guides. Take a closer look at some fascinating, treasured items in our collection and learn more about their fascinating history that makes our collection so unique.

Every day is different, and depend on each staff member’s area of interest and study. You could learn about the trials and tribulations of the life in Ancient Egypt, or the myths and mysteries behind Rapa Nui and the Moai. Our wonderful Guides will share the rich history of our collection and the peoples and cultures they come from.

Whether you are a first-time visitor or a Museum regular, there is something for everyone with different tours covering a variety of themes and topics. Spotlight Tours are 20 minutes and run each day at 2pm.

This is a koha-only offering that brings our beautiful collection to life. Come along and discover the stories behind the objects and taoka within our walls.
